My ecobee3 lite is online but not connected to ecobee servers, what should I do?

This occurs when your router is not providing the correct IP address to your ecobee. To resolve this, follow the steps below:

  1. Remove your ecobee3 lite from the backplate.
  2. Unplug your wireless router, and wait 1 minute.
  3. Reconnect your wireless router.
  4. Put your ecobee3 lite back on the your backplate.


After roughly 1 minute, it will connect to your wi-fi. If it has not connected after 1 minute, tap the Menu icon on your thermostat. Select Settings > Wi-Fi. Select Enable and input your wi-fi password to reconnect your ecobee3 lite to the wi-fi.

If your ecobee3 lite is still not connecting to the server, please contact ecobee support for further troubleshooting.
