Q: I received a email alert stating that the Internet connection had been lost and that the heating and cooling system would not work until the Internet connection is reestablished. Dose this mean in the middle of the heating season when heat is needed, there will be no heat until the Internet is back up? What if the internet dose not come back at all, frozen house and pipes? Also what happens when the power goes out? Dose the system return to it's program?
A: The ecobee should operate as a stand alone unit and the loss of internet service should not affect the thermostats duties to enable your hvac equipment, however, we will look into this issue as a possible bug in our program.
