If your current thermostat only has 2 wires present, your furnace/boiler has T&T contacts, and you're able to wire into your existing transformer, you can install the Fast-Stat Common Maker. The diagrams below illustrate how your system is currently wired vs. how it will be wired with the Fast-Stat.

You will need to splice the black wire coming from the Fast-Stat receiver into your C wire that's leading back to your transformer. If you have an actual C terminal, you will need to connect the black Fast-Stat wire to the C terminal.

If your current thermostat only has 2 wires present, your furnace/boiler has T&T or R and W contacts, and you're not able to wire into your existing transformer/don't have a C terminal, you can install the Fast-Stat Common Maker as well as an external 24V transformer. The diagrams below illustrate how your system is currently wired vs. how it will be wired with the Fast-Stat.

If you have an electrical outlet located near your furnace/boiler, you can use a 24V plugin wall transformer (easiest method). When installing an external 24V transformer, we recommend contacting a certified electrician to assist.
