Getting help for your heating and cooling system's maintenance and repairs

Your ecobee thermostat already provides you with peace of mind by reminding you when it's time for preventative maintenance of your heating and cooling system, or alerting you when your equipment isn’t performing as it should. For example, if your air conditioning is taking longer than usual to cool your home, there may be an underlying issue that should be inspected. Learn more about thermostat reminders and alerts here.

We've now made reminders and alerts smarter and more helpful by enabling homeowners to connect with local, trusted professionals who can help diagnose and service their HVAC issue in a few easy steps. We're testing this new feature in a few US cities and will use your feedback to make it even better over time.

 


 

Pro help when you need it

When you receive a thermostat reminder or alert from your ecobee, you may want a professional to come out and take a look at your HVAC system. If you've had your thermostat installed or serviced by a pro in the past that you'd like to work with again, check for their contact details first in your reminder/alert email or under your thermostat's main menu > About > Contractor. 

We've also partnered with HomeAdvisor in the US and HomeStars in Canada, leading home improvement platforms that can put you in touch with highly-rated local pros. Right from your reminder or alert, you'll be able to view the best pros for the job and request one or more estimates. This option will appear if you live in any of the following cities: Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami and Toronto. Stay tuned as we'll be expanding to other regions over time.

 


 

What to expect when connecting to a pro

You'll have the option to request quotes from up to 4 trusted pros in your area that can diagnose and resolve your issue. Once you submit your request, you should hear back from your chosen pro(s) quickly, usually within an hour during regular business hours. You'll then be able to discuss the details of your issue, get a quote and schedule a convenient appointment if you choose.

 


 

What information is shared?

We take your privacy seriously and only share the minimum amount of information needed to match you with pros that can help with your category of reminder or alert, in your local area. Once you submit requests for quote to your selected pros, your contact information is shared with them so they can get in touch with you. Your information is always safeguarded in accordance with ecobee's Privacy Policy and HomeAdvisor's Privacy Policy

 


 

Support for your pro experience

If you live in one of the test cities above and aren't able to see the option to connect with a pro from your reminder or alert in the notification email or mobile app screen, or you encounter an issue while requesting quotes from HomeAdvisor pros, please give us a call and we'd be happy to help.
