Alexa is saying “Sorry, I could not find any devices or groups named (your thermostat’s name) in your account.”

This sometimes happens when Alexa can’t understand the name of your ecobee4. There are a couple of ways you can fix the problem:

  1. Make sure you’re using your ecobee’s name correctly. To confirm what you’ve named your ecobee, on your thermostat, go to SETTINGS > PREFERENCES > THERMOSTAT. From there you will see what you’ve named your ecobee4 and can try repeating the command to Alexa.


  1. Make sure that your ecobee’s name is easy to understand. For example, Alexa will sometimes have trouble understanding ‘My ecobee’ or a name that is spelled differently (‘b3dr00m’ vs. “bedroom’).


You can change the name of your ecobee4 at any time by simply going to SETTINGS > PREFERENCES > THERMOSTAT > Input the new name.
