How do I enable Amazon Alexa Voice Service on my ecobee4?

During the registration of your ecobee4, you were prompted to link your Amazon.com account. If you do not have an Amazon.com account, you can create one here. Linking your Amazon accounting will automatically enable Alexa Voice Service on your ecobee4.

You can setup Alexa using the ecobee mobile app. Tap on the Mic icon, and you'll see the option to Link Alexa at the bottom.

If linking is successful, you will hear your ecobee4 say “hello." Try out the voice commands and watch the blue light flash as it responds! To control and adjust your thermostat with Alexa, you’ll need to enable the ecobee Smart Home skill.

If you skipped linking your Amazon.com account during the registration process, you will not be able to use Alexa Voice Service with your ecobee4. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the ecobee mobile app or visit the online web portal and select ALEXA VOICE CONTROL.
