Using Alexa Alarms & Timers

Alexa Alarms & Timers

Need to set an alarm or use a countdown timer? You can ask Alexa to set various timers or alarms on your ecobee4 using your voice. You can also cancel a timer or alarm at any time, and set a single timer or alarm up to 24 hours ahead of time.

How to set and edit an Alarm

To set an alarm with your voice, just say "Alexa, set an alarm for [time of day]." If you want a repeating alarm, say "Alexa, set a repeating alarm for [day of week] at [time]."

Need a few more minutes? When your alarm goes off say “Snooze” for an additional nine minutes.

Once you've created a new alarm, you can edit it within the Amazon Alexa app. Here’s how:

  1. Select MENU then TIMERS & ALARMS
  2. Choose your ecobee4 from the drop-down menu
  3. Select the ALARMS tab
  4. Select the alarm you’ve created with your voice
  5. Under REPEATS select an option:
    • Never Repeat
    • Everyday
    • Weekdays
    • Weekend
    • Every [day of the week]
    • Delete Alarm
  6. Select SAVE CHANGES

How to set and edit a Timer

You can Ask Alexa to set one or more timers for up to 24 hours using your voice. To set a countdown timer, say “Alexa, set a timer for [duration].”

After a timer is set you can then Ask Alexa how much time is left, or to pause, stop, cancel, or resume the timer.

You can also manage an existing timer within the Amazon Alexa app. Here’s how:

  1. Select MENU then TIMERS & ALARMS
  2. Choose your ecobee4 from the drop-down menu
  3. Select the TIMERS tab
  4. Select EDIT next to the timer you want to manage, and then select PAUSE or CANCEL

Hint: If two or more timers are set for the same amount of time, use the app to cancel them.
