How do I register my Switch+ to my account?

Your ecobee Switch+ serial number is located on the side of the Switch+ and on the bottom of the packaging. Look for the 12-digit number beginning with 6117 located under the barcode - that's your Switch+ serial number! 


You can also locate the serial number in the ecobee app by going to Main Menu and then selecting About.

If you used the ecobee app to install your Switch+, you should be taken straight to registration after installation.

If not, download the ecobee app. Once installed, tap on the + icon on the upper right side of the screen and select Register a device. This will take you to a device selection screen where you can choose ecobee Switch+.


Tap on the Switch+ and make sure the light bar is glowing amber.

If the amber light is not on, press and hold down the main button for 5 seconds. Follow the main menu options and press on the main button again once prompted to "Reset to Factory Settings". 

Once the light bar glows amber, tap on Get Started on your app setup screen.


The app will now scan for devices, once you see your device shown on the screen tap on Add. From here, select the Wi-Fi network you would like to connect your Switch + to and hit next. You should see a message confirming the device has successfully connected.

Note: For iOS, you have the option of automatically adding your Switch + to your HomeKit account. To do so, select Set up using HomeKit. Your HomeKit code will be found at the back of the product booklet and on the Switch + wall plate.

If you need to remove a Switch+ from your account, login to the ecobee app with your username and password and do the following:

1. Go to Home and tap on your Switch + to open the device screen.

2. Select Device Settings and tap Reset.



3) Scroll to the bottom of the page, select "Remove device from account" and then "Remove" to confirm.

NOTE: If your Switch+ is offline, you'll see the following screen instead when you get to Step 2. In this case, tap "Need Help?" and then "Remove Device From Account."
