How to install SmartSensor for doors and windows

After pairing SmartSensor for doors and windows, continue through the in app guide for directions on placement.

Important items to consider when installing:

Before mounting, clean the area where the SmartSensor will be installed.

The magnet works with the base to detect entry and can go on either side of the base. The bottom of the base should be in line with the bottom of the magnet.

The base’s circular lens detects motion. The lens needs to be vertical with the word “ecobee” in the upright position.

The base and magnet should be as close together as possible. When in set up mode (the first 15 minutes), the green LED will glow when the magnet and base are close enough to detect a closed state. After the first 15 minutes, the LED will just blink when the door/window opens or closes.

You may need to move the Base and Magnet around to fit your particular door or window.
